Three miles east, a gracious park along the Salmon River offers:

Rainbow Trout Farm
Three miles west, a private trout farm is located in a large, beautiful park-like setting with 10 ponds, one with large lunkers (giant fish). All equipment provided. All catches are cleaned and iced. No license required.
Oregon Candy Factory
Watch delectable delights being made, then purchase some to take with you. Chocolate is their specialty.
The Barlow Trail Road
The last portion of the Oregon Trail from The Dalles to Oregon City. It passes within a quarter mile of the lodge. Your host will be happy to show you various points of interest.

MT HOOD ADVENTURE
Andersons Outdoors
Local fishing in the Sandy and Salmon Rivers for salmon, steelhead and trout is catch and release only. Beautiful high country lakes: Lost, Timothy, Clear, Frog and Trillium, are also within a short driving distance. Trillium and Frog Lakes have especially good fishing.
Hiking
Fabulous views of Mt Hood, rippling waterways and the quiet of the ancient forests can all be experienced on 20 plus hiking trails within 15 miles of the lodge in the Mt. Hood National Forest.
Mountaineering
Mt. Hood ,the second most climbed mountain in the world, offers climbing for all skill levels.
Golfing
A professional 27 hole golf course is available 5 miles east.
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic area
About one hour drive north are many beautiful waterfalls, some with short hiking trails. The tallest and most visited is Multnomah Falls, 620 feet high, a spectacular sight. Gift shopping and fine dining are available at the lodge.
Rafting
Rafting and kayaking on the Sandy River is a summertime favorite of many. Often they can be seen from the lodge floating down the river.
Local Communities
The Villages of Mt. Hood
5 small villages, all within 7 miles of the lodge: Brightwood, Wemme, Welches, Zigzag and Rhododendron.
Government Camp
A small town at the summit of the Mt. Hood pass, 17 miles east of the lodge, is currently experiencing an explosion of new construction.
Sandy
A town of about 6000, 12 miles west of the lodge on Highway 26.
